Here is a list of my top 5 favorite shoes:

  • Nike
  • Nike was founded in January 25, 1964. Its previous name was Blue Ribbon Sports but in 1971 it changed to Nike, Inc. The founders of Nike were Bill Bowerman and Phil Knight. Their products are athletic footwear and apparel , sports equipments and other athletic and recreational products. Nike is actually the Greek goddess of victory. The "Swoosh" logo was created in 1971 by Carolyn Davidson, who was a graphic design student at Portland University. The "Swoosh" logo was originally called "the stripe". She had met Phil Knight and while he was teaching accounting classes she began to do freelance work for his company.

  • Vans
  • Vans was founded in March 16, 1996. The owners are Paul Van Doren, Gordon C. Lee, and James Van Doren. Its headquarters are in Cypress, CA. They produce apparel such as T-shirts, hoodies, socks, hats and backapcks. Vans sponsors skateboard, surf, snow, BMX, and motocross teams. Since 1996, they have also been the sponsor of Vans Warped Tour traveling rock festival. Skateboarders and BMX riders started having an interest in colorful Vans shoes. That is why leather was introduced and it was used on the toe and heel but that is because they easily wore these shoes out. The most popular style on opening day was #44, which it is now known as "authentic" shoe.

  • Converse was founded in February, 1908. Its founder is Marquis Millis Converse. Its parent organization is Nike, Inc. Their headquarters are in Boston, MA. Converse consists of apparel, skating shoes and lifestyle brand footwear. It is known to be as one of America's iconic footwear companies. Converse were originally athletic shoes; the Converse All Star were debuted in 1917 as an athletic sneaker and it became popular/ number one in basketball. In the late 1940's most of the NBA sported Chucks and they still remain the best selling basketball shoes.
